Stenographer Grade C/D Exam is organized by the staff selection commission every year and this exam consist the different sections. In order to prepare well for the SSC stenographer exam candidates are required to know a complete details of exam SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2016 and Exam Pattern.
SSC Stenographer Syllabus
SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2016 for Grade C & D compromise in:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Awareness
- English Language & Comprehension
General Intelligence & Reasoning
This paper is set to test the candidate’s abilities with ideas and symbols. This section will consist of questions on
- Verbal and non verbal reasoning
- Similarities and differences
- Problem solving and analysis
- Arithmetic number series
- Figure classification e.t.c.
This section will be designed with the questions on
- current affairs
English Language & Comprehension
It contains questions on
- Sentence structure
- Antonyms and its correct usage
Skill Test in Stenography:
Applicants who qualify in the written test, they will be called for skill test in stenography. Candidates will be given dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute and 80 w.p.m for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’, respectively.
The timings will be divided as follows:
For Stenographer Grade ‘D’
- 50 minutes (English)
- 65 minutes (Hindi)
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’
- 40 minutes (English)
- 55 Minutes (Hindi)
SSC Grade C/D Exam Pattern
Detailed Examination Pattern is provided, to help aspirants in preparing for the examination.SSC Stenographer exam consists of written objective type paper followed by Skill Test in Stenography.
The written examination consists of one objective type paper with three parts.

Total marks of the paper are 200. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The questions except in Part III are set both in English & Hindi.
