Educational Qualification:

1 Air Force Academy (AFA) 10+2 level with Physics and Mathematics along with a degree
2 Indian Naval Academy (IMA) Graduation Degree
3 Naval Academy (NA) Engineering degree
4 Officers Training Academy (OTA) Bachelors Degree



For the applying candidates, they must be either:

  • A citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan and Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the purpose of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has roam from Pakistan, Burma, Shri lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Those who have the certificate of eligibility that is issued by the Government of India can be eligible to apply.

Age Limit Details:

Posts Name Age Details
Air Force Academy Unmarried male candidates born not before the 2nd January, 1992 and not after the 1st January, 1996.
IMA Bachelor male applicants born not earlier than 2nd January, 1992 and not later than 1st January, 1997.
Naval Academy
Officers Training Academy SSC Course for Men Married or unmarried contestants born not earlier than 2nd January, 1991 and not later than 1st January, 1997.
SSC Women Non-Technical Course Unmarried Women, widows (who have not remarried) and divorcees (who have not remarried) are eligible. They should have been born not before 2nd January, 1991 and not after 1st January, 1997.
Note Male divorcee/widower contenders cannot be treated as single male for the intention of their admission in IMA/INA/AFA courses and so they are not eligible for these courses.

Physical Standards: 

Participants must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected based on written test followed by the personal interview.
