CBSE NET 2015
From this year onwards Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting National Eligibility Test. Earlier the exam of NET was conducted twice a year by the University Grants Commission (UGC). However, since UGC could not conduct the examination smoothly, the HRD ministry has handed over the reins for conducting this exam to CBSE.
With this responsibility, CBSE has turn into the major exam conducting body of the country. As per information, CBSE is known to conduct entrance exams which are taken by around 63 lakh candidates each year and now with NET also under its field the number is set to cross 65 lakhs.
At the same time as University Grants Commission (UGC) failed to carry out the test hassle-free, with the HRD ministry’s permission, the responsibility got transferred to the CBSE to carry out the test. NET (National Eligibility Test) is conducted twice a year for grant of junior research fellowship and eligibility for assistant professor in institutes of higher learning.
UGC (University Grants Commission) has conducted National Eligibility Test on June 29 this year where over 33,000 applicants appeared for the examination. This year number of contender was up by 25 per cent from that of the test carried out in December 2013. With the addition of NET, the CBSE further than any doubt becomes the most important exam conducting body all over the world.
